Well, it’s that time of the year again. The days are getting shorter, the sunsets are getting lovelier, the bbq and the surf board haven’t been out for a while, it must be time to plant some trees! Not yet it isn’t…
Here on the coast we always get a drought, the only question is which season it comes in. This year it’s come in autumn so we won’t be planting before June. We have plants, pots and pots of em, we have volunteers eager to get their hands dirty, but we don’t have rain. On the plus side this gives us plenty of time to prepare our planting sites.
This Saturday we are having a stroll around Carrads farm, weeding and assessing last years planting effort and planning for this winter. The last time I was up there our plants were growing very strongly so I’m hoping the drought hasn’t effected them too much.

Next week is our first tour of the Ecosite since the new work access track was completed. This is an opportunity for those who haven’t been up there before to see what all the fuss is about. The new track means that sheep as well as goats can get up there so now’s you chance. r.s.v.p. please, we need to know numbers because parking is limited and we may need to arrange transport.
