Paekakariki School Fair

Sunday, November 21st, 2010

We had a great day today at the Paekakariki School fair. The fair seems to have become the event on Paekakariki’s social calendar with squillions of people comming from all over -someone told me they had driven here all the way from Hastings for it!

Our stall holders - Nancy and Naomi

Nga Uruora had a stall selling trees, Christmas cards, memberships and kids could pot up seedlings to give as Christmas presents. The feedback from the community was pretty amazing really, everyone seems to love what we do but it’s all the more encouraging to hear it from so many.

We were lucky to have a couple of great volunteers on our stall. Naomi and Nancy, both members, helped out on the day so a big thanks to them for their time.

A few people joined up to become new members on the spot and plenty more bought our cards to send to friends and relatives in far off places. Some kids potted up little seedlings and made gift card/swing tags for them, carrying their trees proudly away. Our forest is growing by the minute!
