Over 50 people turned up for our first summer evening walk of the year on January 2nd. We ran the Beach n Bush summer evening walk instead of the advertised Hidden Forest walk which was not possible due to railway works over the holiday period. It didn’t stop everyone from having a good time and only one person couldn’t make it up the hill because of a dodgy knee. The Beach n Bush walk is on again this Sunday at the originally advertised date and the Hidden Forest walk has been rescheduled for the 20th February.
These events are a walk on the wild side so please dress and prepare accordingly. Good footwear and a bite to eat and a drink should see you right. Walking poles are a good idea for the less sure footed. The format for both walks is to explore at a relaxed pace, watch the sunset from on high, weather permitting, and then get back down before it gets dark. Children with a sense of adventure welcome. Koha to support our conservation work would be appreciated.

Summary Walks Programme
Nga Uruora are holding two summer evening walks in January to showcase our main project areas. Over the years we have built access tracks and steadily improved them until they have become easy and safer enough to send out a general invite. Its still a walk on the wild side so please dress and prepare accordingly. Good footwear and a bite to eat and a drink should see you right.
